Kim and Ray Raszl of Raszl Custom Pools and Spas in Ormond Beach are prime examples of our ideal customer. The Raszls were previously subcontracting another company to plaster their pools, but had one unresolved issue too many, causing them to look for another vendor. Kim contacted us, and we assured her that we would never leave an issue unresolved. We recently plastered the pool below with Cove Blue Ice, a pebble and glass bead blend. The resulting water color is the perfect compliment to their impeccable design. Kim is submitting this pool for a Florida Swimming Pool Association design award.

The owner, Shon Myrick has built swimming pools in central Florida for over 25 years. He recently opened a new showroom and his own shop after working in house for ICI Homes. He continues to build swimming pools for ICI, but has since expanded his operation to build custom pools for the public. Myrick focuses on quality over quantity and builds incredible swimming pools. We appreciate his approach, and we could not be more thrilled to be finishing their pools. We recently finished a pool for an ICI showcase home in Ormond with Black Pearl, one of our favorite pebble finishes. The pool turned out so great we had to make a video to show it off. The proximity to the golf course made this pool an ideal spot to get the drone in the air for an aerial perspective.
- [Working with the Haskell Company](https://tempoolinc.com/working-with-the-haskell-company/): Four years ago Tempool was hired to plaster the fountain at The Haskell Company’s corporate headquarters in Riverside. The Haskell Company is one of the biggest players in commercial construction in Jacksonville if not the biggest. They build everything from college dorms to hospitals and just about everything in between. When they won the bid to redesign and construct the new river walk on Jacksonville’s Southbank of the St. Johns River, they also had to figure out how to reincorporate the iconic statue of a WW II Naval Seaman. The original statue was perched on top of a set of wooden benches.

In this age of colored pool finishes, proper circulation is crucial to maintaining the evenness of the background dye. Chemicals are heavier than water and sink after they pass through the filter. The should be delivered to the top of the water body, so they can disinfect and clean the finish as they sink back to the bottom. This process should be continually repeated and only works when your jets are positioned correctly. Circulation is not only about cleaning the bottom of the pool and side walls, but also about moving the entire water column.

Water movement from a water feature allows your pool’s water to reflect and refract light, and this moving water creates a beautiful illusion of ‘living water.’ Living water is created when you see shifting light prisms reflecting off the bottom of your pool, bringing the whole oasis to life.

Realizing he needed some assistance to apply the new product he contacted CL Industries and they recommended using Tempool to consult.

The Morgan Bay Resort would be closed for three weeks for additional improvements, and we would be working with a local company that was going to provide 8 additional finishers to help with the plastering. We submitted a bid and a couple of days later it was accepted. The material had already been purchased and all we had to do was show up with our trowels, cleats, and work clothes. Or so we thought…

After seeing a young girl being fitted with prosthetics, I was introduced to the Shriners and their work with injured and disabled children. I knew right then what I wanted to do.
- [Belleza Remodel](https://tempoolinc.com/belleza-remodel/): Since 1992, we’ve remodeled thousands of pools, many of which are commercial jobs. Whether the remodel is for the city, a resort, neighborhood, or condo/apartment complex our number one goal is to make the client happy. We don’t leave the job until we accomplish this all important goal. We were  recently hired by Crown Pools to remodel the pool and spa at Belleza Condominiums, an upscale development in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. The manager of the complex wanted to refinish the interior, update the tiles, and add new internal light fixtures. She requested a navy blue tile, which apparently was in very limited supply nationwide. We were able to locate the tile through a distributor in Arizona. Being a commercial pool, the surface of the tile would need to be baked with a non skid finish. We had the tiles shipped to West Palm Beach to have this process done and within three days we had the tile. During this time, our remodel crew went to work prepping the pool and spa for the tiles and new plaster. The pool was drained and the guys chipped out the old gutters to make room for the new plaster. Within a week the new tiles were installed and the pool/spa was ready for plaster. The spa was finished with pebble and the pool would get Krystalkrete. Two different finishes meant we’d have to use two pump rigs.
- [Caribbean Island Pool Finish](https://tempoolinc.com/caribbean-island-pool-finish/): A few months ago I was contacted by a home design and engineering firm out of Nashville to consult on and apply a Hydrazzo finish to a pool on a small private island in the Caribbean. The design group is known for their work with Country Music Artists. I later learned that Tempool would be bidding to finish Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s pool at their new vacation home. I was provided with the specs and some drawings of the pool and entered a bid. A few days later we were awarded the job.When we plaster pools outside of the U.S. there are always unique challenges and hurdles to jump. This job would prove to be no different. I was only allowed to bring one of the guys from my plaster crew, and due to the labor laws of the tiny Island nation we would have to use a certain amount of local labor. We would also be limited on the tools we could bring and our mixing/pump trucks obviously would not be accompanying us on our journey.
